Changing Lives Through the Power of Horses
For someone with a disability, a single ride can mean independence, trust and hope.
You can make that happen – help more Victorians experience the freedom and joy that only a horse can give.
RDAV is a community-focused organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities through horse-assisted activities. With 33 centres across Victoria, our programs empower participants of all ages, providing opportunities for physical development, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Our specially trained horses and compassionate volunteers create a welcoming space for everyone, fostering a community of support, encouragement, and shared achievement.

Join our community and make a difference! RDAV offers various ways for you to support our mission:
Your involvement helps us bring the benefits of equine-assisted activities to more individuals in need.
At RDAV, we see the impact of our work every day. From building confidence to creating lasting friendships, our programs make a difference. Here’s what some of our participants and their families have to say:
“RDAV has given our family so much more than we could have ever imagined. Watching our daughter ride with confidence is a joy beyond words.” – Parent of a Participant
“Life for our riders is not easy. With us, they can be themselves. They can achieve something others take for granted and enjoy the freedom of movement they may not otherwise experience. It is the smile on the face, seeing them relax in the saddle or simply interact with a horse when we are grateful for people like you, who help make the magic happen” – Centre Coach
Sometimes life can become very anxious for Tom. Once on the horse the magic begins. Tom’s behaviour is more regulated, he is willing to reach out and hold a hand for a squeeze or simply touch the horses’ neck or interact with some of the activities the coach puts out. That night he sleeps well. Each week Tom grows a little more in confidence and his smile gets a little bigger.
